Close Control Units: Eircom, Waterford

Eircom commissioned DAL to carry out the replacement of the water/glycol based air-conditioning systems in their Tycor exchange in Waterford City in 2006. The project involved the supply and installation 3 No. 30 kW (DX) down-flow close control units. These were installed in a phased manner to ensure that the exchange remained fully operational for the duration of the works. As a result there was no disruption to service.

For this project, and indeed every project, DAL provided Eircom with a dedicated project manager to ensure that all work was carried out safely and in accordance with Eircom’s work practices and procedures. All electrical works were carried out by DAL’s RECI certified electricians.

DAL ensured all redundant equipment; R22 refrigerant gas and
water/glycol was disposed of in an environmentally sensitive manner.
Indaver Ireland are the specialist partner of DAL who carefully
and safely dispose of the gas once it is removed. Indaver are a fully licenced
hazardous waste management company and supply full disposal certs including
traceability and disposal information.
